what Anaue means
Anaue is a positive and affectionate word from the Brazilian Indian Tupi language used as a happy salutation. According to the Brazilian Montona dictionary, Anaue means you are my brother or sister. The Tupi and other tribes inhabited the Brazilian coastline when Brazil was first discovered.
At the time that Portuguese explorer Pedro Alvares Cabral discovered South America on April 22, 1500, most native tribes living in Brazil were descendants of the first wave of migrants from North Asia (Siberia).
According to historians, these tribes crossed the Bering Land Bridge exposed by the falling sea level at the end of the last Ice Age, about 9000 BC. At Cabral's arrival, the territory of Brazil had as many as 2,000 nations and tribes, an estimated total population of nearly 3,000,000 Amerindians. Most of these tribes were semi-nomadic, living principally on the coast and along the banks of major rivers.
